What this site is

PassportBroList is a city-by-city guide for men who are considering dating, spending extended time, or relocating outside their home country. Every city page covers the same things: what it costs to live there, how safe it is, how much English is spoken, what the dating culture expects, and which neighborhoods foreigners actually choose.

The site started in 2025 because the information men were sharing in forums was scattered, anecdotal and hard to compare. We wanted one place where Bangkok, Medellín and Warsaw could be looked at side by side using the same yardstick.

How we score cities

Each city gets four core scores on a 1 to 10 scale, plus a monthly cost estimate in US dollars.

• Dating scene reflects how open locals are to dating foreigners, how widely dating apps are used, and how easy it is to build a social circle. It is an editorial judgement, not a measurement.
• Safety combines government travel advisory levels, reported crime and scam patterns, and community reports. It describes typical risk in the areas foreigners frequent, not the whole metro area.
• English proficiency draws on published English proficiency indexes and on how easily visitors get by day to day.
• Healthcare reflects the quality and accessibility of private care that a foreigner would realistically use.
• Monthly cost is what a single man spends living comfortably in a modern one-bedroom in a central, expat-friendly area, eating out regularly and going on dates. It is not a bare-minimum budget.

Cost figures are compiled from public cost of living databases and cross-checked against recent community reports. Cultural notes and dating expectations come from expat forums, community discussions and first-hand accounts. Scores are reviewed periodically and the date at the bottom of each city page shows the last review.

What this site is not

• It is not a dating service and has no member accounts, profiles or messaging.
• It is not legal or immigration advice. Visa rules change often; always confirm with the official embassy or immigration site.
• It is not a guarantee of any outcome. Scores are estimates that help you compare options, nothing more.

We encourage readers to treat the people they meet abroad with the same respect and honesty they would expect at home, and to follow local law everywhere.
